Mediatek Dimensity 1300T announced, to power Tablets first

Why tablets are the first to be powered and who will be the first brand to use this chipset?

MediaTek announced their new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 1300T. It will make its first appearance in an Honor tablet named, Honor V7 Pro. As per Digital Chat Station, the processor will be mass-produced by TSMC on a 6nm fabrication process and will most likely have 8 cores, the CPU core arrangement is still unidentified. On the contrary, the chipset will feature the Cortex-A78 cores, 9-core GPU, and the APU 3.0 NPU.

When it comes to performance upgrades than the previous generation (Dimensity 1000+), the CPU performance has increased by 30% while GPU performance has increased by 40%. Also, the AI performance is reported to improve by 82% compared to the Snapdragon 865.

It has been rumored that the Dimensity 1300T will be exclusive first to Honor and other brands will later follow the use of the said chip. There are also speculations that tablets are the first to be equipped with this rather than smartphones because of the high power consumption. Considering tablets have substantially bigger battery capacities than phones, battery life shouldn’t be a problem.
