The device is said to launch together with the Xiaomi MIX 5 smartphone, the leaked details were shared by a known tipster Xiaomiui. The Xiaomi 12 Lite will be available for the both China and Global markets, whereas the Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom Edition will be exclusive for the Chinese market.
Xiaomi 12 Lite (L9)
The Xiaomi 12 Lite has a model number L9 and will be codenamed "Taoyao." The phone will use an ISOCELL GW3 primary sensor, followed by an ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a macro lens. While on the front, it will use a 6.55-inch FHD+ resolution, 120Hz AMOLED display. For security, it will utilize an in-display fingerprint reader. Taoyao or Xiaomi 12 Lite will be equipped with Snapdragon 778G or 780G+ processor. The phone will be available for Global markets only, it has model information numbers 2203129I and 2203129G.
Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom (L9B)
Model number L9B is the Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom, the device is codenamed "Zijin." It will equip a Snapdragon 778G or 780G+ processor and will come with a 6.55-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. While for security, it will utilize an in-display fingerprint reader. Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom's triple camera setup contains a Samsung ISOCELL GW3 main sensor, followed by an ultra-wide-angle sensor and a telephoto lens. The device will be exclusive to the Chinese market and has model information number 2203129BC.
The design of the devices will be similar to the Xiaomi Civi and will be as thin and light as the Xiaomi 11 Lite. In addition, the Xiaomi 12 Lite Series will have an Android 12-based MIUI 13 with 2 Android updates. Based on the first 2-4 digits of the model numbers, they will be released in March 2022.
